We just got back from a weekend at the newest Great Wolf Lodge, located in Perryville, Maryland. This resort just opened in August 2023, so we couldn’t wait to check it out.
Here’s my tips & honest review for planning your visit- make sure to save this post!
🔹This is a great family resort & a play to connect with your family and get 1 on 1 time with the kid. This place is designed for kids to live their best life, and mine sure did.
🔹This is a new location, so it books quickly! I recommend going on a weekday to have more of the resort to yourself. If going on the weekend, I recommend getting to the water park at opening, and then heading back for a nap mid day to reset!
🔹Download the App BEFORE you arrive! Barnwood is the full service restaurant on site and books up quickly. Make dining reservations at the time of booking your room, or you may miss your chance to visit (like we did). You can also take advantage of the fast food options available, or head off site for dinner and explore the surrounding area.
🔹Traveling with a group? Upgrade to a Cabana! The water park is the main attraction especially on weekends, and having a cabana ensures you have a private area with seating, refrigerator, table, TV for dads on those football Sundays, and a wait staff! If you don’t mind paying more, a cabana makes a waterpark day much more comfortable. A great option when traveling with a group since you can split the cost.
🔹The Waterpark is AMAZING!! They have flotation devices and life jackets available for sale or to rent, but make sure to practice water safety and stay with your kids at all times. 💦
🔹If you’re local, take advantage of the weekday savings and get a half day pass starting at $36. Weekends, the passes are more expensive, which is why I recommend a weekday visit to save some $$ and beat the crowds.
