Let me introduce you to one of America’s top 10 river towns right here in Columbia, Pennsylvania.
Nestled on the Susquehanna River in Lancaster County, Columbia was once primed to become the Nation’s capital only to fall one vote short, so it’s no wonder it’s a town brimming with history and charm.
With more than 38 cafes, coffeeshops and restaurants to visit, a downtown full of antique shops and boutiques to explore, and outdoor adventures on the Susquehanna River to keep you busy, it makes for a great getaway destination.
We stayed at @freedomhomepa , a civil war mansion from 1876. The home is spacious and offers 15 rooms including 5 bedrooms that can sleep up to 10 people, and a bonus “secret room” that is fun to discover.
This beautiful home, which was built by a Civil War Veteran, is just a block away from bustling downtown and all it has to offer.
One of my favorite parts of the home is the outdoor patio where you can sit and enjoy a coffee with the sound of the bubbling fountain. ⛲️ ☕️
We had the best time during our weekend in Columbia, but don’t just take my word for it. Check it out for yourself, and let me know your thoughts!
