Sunset Walks, Sandy Feet, and a Long Weekend in Daytona

Lately, I’ve been craving trips that feel easy. The kind where you don’t overthink the itinerary, where beach walks become the plan, and where the best moments happen in between snack runs and sunset views. Daytona gave us exactly that. ☀️

We wanted a long weekend in Daytona where we could slow down a little, spend time together, and not feel like we needed a vacation after the vacation. Booking through Extra Holidays made this kind of family getaway feel easy from the very beginning.

A Stay That Made Family Travel Feel Easy

Instead of squeezing into a standard hotel room, we had space to actually settle in for a few days. A kitchen for easy breakfasts before heading out, enough room for everyone to spread out comfortably, and a setup that made family travel feel relaxed instead of rushed. Honestly, having enough room for everyone’s beach bags, snacks, and random pool toys already felt like a win.

The Easy Rythm of our Long Weekend in Daytona

Most of our days slipped into a simple rhythm. The kids happily bounced between the pool and the beach while we eased into Daytona’s laid-back energy. Being close to the boardwalk meant we never really needed much of a plan. One moment we were taking a quick beach walk, and the next we somehow turned a snack stop into a full family outing. Funny how that always happens.

A Night That Transported Us to the Islands 🏝

One of our favorite nights in Daytona ended up being at the Polynesian Fire Luau, where the energy, music, and performances instantly transported us to the islands. We were welcomed with flower leis, tropical flaming cocktails, and a family-friendly buffet that made the entire evening feel festive from the start.

The dancers and fire performers completely captivated the girls, and honestly, we were just as mesmerized. The atmosphere was lively, immersive, and full of the kind of joy that makes a family trip feel extra memorable. At one point, I looked over and realized all of us were sitting there completely locked into the show with giant smiles on our faces. Those are the moments you wish you could bottle up forever.

The Simple Moments That Ended Up Meaning the Most

And that’s really what made this trip so special.

Not packed itineraries or rushing from one attraction to another, but the slower moments in between. Watching the sunset after a beach day. Sitting on the balcony once the kids finally slowed down for the night. Hearing sleepy little voices recap their favorite moments of the day before bed.

Daytona has this easygoing rhythm that makes it simple to settle into vacation mode.

One thing I really appreciated about booking through Extra Holidays was how practical it felt for actual family travel. It had the comfort of a resort stay while still feeling realistic for families, especially with the extra space and flexibility. And yes, saving 20% was a pretty nice perk too.

This trip reminded me that some of the best family memories come from the simplest things. Sandy feet, ocean air, spontaneous ice cream stops, and kids completely worn out from a day well spent.

Simple, sunny, and exactly what we needed. ☀️
